Graco PerformAA 50 air-assisted spray gun – specifications & accessories

The new Graco PerformAA 50 air-assisted spray gun has finally arrived on the European market and in our Airless Discounter shop since March 2023. The G50 replaces its predecessor, the Graco G40 flat nozzle (24C855).
In today’s article, we’ll take a look at its specifications, compatible accessories and all the versions available from Graco and for sale in our shop.

What range does Graco offer?

In this new range of Graco air-assisted spray guns called “PerformAA”, the manufacturer offers 4 models of spray gun:

• PerformAA 15 (in an air-assisted version; available in 105 bar max.)
• PerformAA 50 (air-assisted version; available up to 345 bar)
• PerformAA 50 RAC (air-assisted version; available up to 345 bar)
• PerformAA 15 (in a single airless version; available in 105 or 345 bar)

We are highlighting the PerformAA 50 air-assisted version (with aircoat nozzle) and General Finishing air cap in our shop because we find it very complete for its price and very suitable for our professional customers who use it mainly with machines such as :

• Graco MINI MERKUR ES 30:1
• Graco MERKUR 30:1, 25ccm
• or even higher flow rates with Graco MERKUR 30:1, 75ccm

What are the specifications of the new Graco PerformAA 50 pistol?

Here is a summary of the specifications for this new Graco pistol:

1. This new model is now lighter than its predecessors
2. Improved rear air and material regulator
3. Handle as ergonomic as ever
4. Reworked air caps
5. Redesigned trigger for improved ergonomics when working long hours
6. x7 air caps available for a better match with the product being sprayed
7. x2 types of air-assisted nozzle available for even greater flexibility between materials and surfaces to be sprayed

After carrying out tests in our training centre, our Airless Discounter team can confirm the pleasure of using such a spray gun when applying lacquers, stains, varnishes and finishing paints with a Graco Merkur air-assisted pump.

What are the advantages of such a tool?

What do we see?

1. The PerformAA 50 pistol now comes with sets of parts sold as cartridges, making it much easier and quicker to repair the pistols.
   1. Front cartridge for the materials being sprayed.
   2. Rear cartridge for the air fluid flowing to the air cap.
2. The components are also more durable, for ever lower maintenance costs.

(Note that these Graco cartridge references for air and fluid correspond only to the G50 pistol model that we sell in our shop “26B510”; and will have to be checked again for any other model and material used as indicated on the Graco assembly drawing).

What about the nozzles and air caps on the Graco PerformAA 50 (G50)?

There are now 7 new air caps for different types of material. As well as 2 categories of air-assisted nozzles called AXM (standard single-orifice, maintaining uniform atomisation at low, medium and high pressures) and AXF (high-finish pre-orifice producing a gentle spray for high transfer efficiency at low to medium pressures).

What model of Graco PerformAA 50 pistol do we carry in our shop?
