Preparation to spray silicate and what equipment is used

For spraying the facade, Hennig Bieck uses the paint P 452 Tribrid Sol-Silikat from Profi Tech. This paint is ideal for spraying facades because it leaves little to no overspray. To apply the paint, he uses a Graco Mark 7 with a pressure setting of about 100 bar. To make working with the device more comfortable, he has inserted a hose whip between the gun and the hose. This is thinner and more flexible than the hose.  It also makes for easier handling when working. You can also use a 30m hose with the unit, which can also make working more comfortable because you don’t have to move the unit as often, depending on the size of the object. On the paint sprayer, he used a 3/8-inch hose, plus the Graco Contractor-PC airless gun, which can be operated with two to four fingers. In the gun, he used a 60 Mesch filter. In the main filter there is another filter with also 60 Mesch.

Hennig Bieck sprays the facade with nozzles that have a 0.025-inch bore. Once with the Graco RAC X LP nozzle and the Graco Line Lazar RAC V nozzle, whereby the Graco Line Lazar RAC V nozzle tends to make harder edges when spraying than the Graco RAC X LP nozzle. One should make sure after spraying with the Graco Line Lazar RAC V nozzle to finish with a roller. However, you can also work with smaller nozzles, such as nozzles, with a 0.023 inch bore. These apply less material and can be better and more economical depending on the application.

Biek recommends that he would rather use smaller nozzles. In general, a smaller airless unit would also suffice, such as the Graco ST Max II 595 PC Pro or the Graco Ultra Max II 695 ProContractor. You can achieve just as good a result with these units. What else you should pay attention to if you want to sharpen the corners of a house is that you have a little more distance to the edge or use a spray shield to avoid paint mist.
