3. Step-by-step methodology to protect your surfaces
Step 1: Preliminary cleaning of surfaces
Adhesive cannot stick properly to a dusty or greasy surface. Before applying your tapes, carefully dust the frames, baseboards, outlets and window frames with a clean microfiber cloth.
Step 2: Complete floor protection
- Unroll heavy painter’s felt or a waterproof protective tarp over the entire floor surface.
- Firmly secure the entire perimeter along the baseboards with the Insulating adhesive tape #27 (50 mm) to prevent dust or mist from seeping under the tarp.
Step 3: Masking windows, doors and bay windows
- Apply the Window protection film on the glass.
- Unroll the Masking film with Gold tape on frames, doors and built-in furniture. Smooth out the film so the static charge presses it against the surface.
