TurboClean mode is an innovative feature built into Graco Ultra XT and Graco Mark XT airless sprayers.
Designed to simplify and speed up cleaning after use, it reduces the time required, cuts water and solvent consumption and extends the life of your equipment.
In this article, we explain in detail how TurboClean works, its benefits and how to use it effectively.

What is TurboClean mode?

TurboClean mode is a high-speed rinsing programme designed by Graco.
It works by increasing the pumping speed during cleaning, which creates strong turbulence inside the circuit.
The result: residual paint is removed more quickly and deposits are eliminated, even in hard-to-reach areas such as pipes and valves.

How does TurboClean work on Graco Ultra XT and Mark XT?

  • Activate mode: select “TurboClean” from the control panel.

  • Accelerated pumping: the motor increases the circulation speed of the rinsing liquid (water or solvent, depending on the paint used).

  • Enhanced mechanical action: the combination of pressure and speed effectively removes paint residues.

Return of paint during rinsing via the return pipe

Advantages of TurboClean mode

  • Cleans up to 4-6 times faster than standard rinsing.

  • Solvent and water savings, thanks to a more efficient process.

  • Less wear and tear on internal parts, as deposits do not build up.

  • Optimum results even with fast-drying paints or viscous products (coatings).

When should TurboClean be used?

  • At the end of the day, after a worksite.

  • When changing paint or colour.

  • After using quick-drying products to avoid blockages in the circuit.

Steps for effective cleaning with TurboClean

The TurboClean cleaning function is controlled by the push-button. To start cleaning, simply turn the pressure control knob fully clockwise until a click is heard. The airless device then starts pumping water or other cleaning materials through the system at high pressure and in bursts. Here are the step-by-step instructions:

Preparing for cleaning with TurboClean

  • Pump the residual material, i.e. paint or putty, from the appliance and paint hose back into the material bucket
  • Suction into the clean water bucket
  • Return hose into the dirty water bucket

Cleaning the appliance and return

  • Open pressure relief valve
  • Turn pressure regulator fully clockwise until it clicks
  • Set pressure regulator to zero as soon as cleaning is complete

Cleaning the paint hose and gun

  • Cleaning the paint hose and gun
  • Remove the nozzle holder with the gun nozzles and clean them
  • Close the discharge valve in the spraying direction towards the gun
  • Hold the gun, trigger pressed, against the edge of the bucket for dirty water
  • Turn the pressure regulator all the way to the right until it clicks
  • Set the pressure regulator to zero as soon as cleaning is complete.

Don’t forget to clean the suction strainer, the main filter housing, including the primary filter, as well as the gun and gun filter.
Finally, lubricate the pump with a protective product (e.g. Pump Armor, Farbmax or EasyClean).

The TurboClean function is only suitable for cleaning the airless device. This setting must not be used to spray paint or plaster.
