Wagner has announced the introduction of a new Aircoat gun, the Wagner AirCoat gun AC 4500. So far the German manufacturer has served the market with the quite popular Wagner AC 4600. With the Wagner AirCoat gun AC 4500, a more cost-effective alternative is apparently being introduced in order to beat the competion of cheaper suppliers. The Wagner AC 4600, however, remains the premium model on the market. In the following article we will look at the exact features of the Wagner AirCoat pistol AC 4500 to get a first impression. Gun filters
The filter housing of the new Wagner AC 4500 is identical to the filter system of the Wagner AC 4600. The filter is then the same.
Air caps
The Wagner AirCoat gun AC 4500 is optionally available with a red, green or blue air cap. The red cap is for solvent-containing materials, the blue cap is for water-soluble paints and the green air cap for water-based and solvent-containing spraying materials, just like for the Wagner

Spray Nozzles
The new model has the same spray nozzle as its predecesor AC 4600, the Wagner ACF 3000.

AC 4500 or AC 4600?
The majority of the components of the Wagner AC 4500 are identical to the Wagner AC 4600. The filter housing, including the gun filter, the air caps and the tip guard. The same aircoat nozzles are used. The trigger as well as the joints at the connection to the air and color hose also seem identical. Like the Wagner AC 4600, the Wagner AirCoat gun AC 4500 has a stepless air and jet width adjustment for the control and fine adjustment of the spray pattern. The list price of the new Wagner AC 4500 is set € 480.00 without VAT. The Wagner AC 4600 is, in comparison, at 646.00 € net (pistol incl. red, green or blue air cap and nozzle holder, without nozzle). It is not clear whether Wagner is using other materials in the AC 4500 or whether the interior component (needle, gaskets) of the Wagner AirCoat gun AC 4500 are different.
Aircoat spraying
The announcement of the Wagner AirCoat gun AC 4500 sounds promising and the gun seems to offer the same advantages and features of the proven Wagner AC 4600 at a much lower price.
