In today’s article, you will discover a range of airless devices that we recommend for companies and individuals, with the following conditions of use.

These machines will be adapted for :

  1. SURFACES: small and medium surfaces (furniture, flats, houses), generally up to 120 m².
  2. FREQUENCY: occasional use (4 to 7 times a year)
  3. MATERIALS: interior dispersion paints (maximum viscosity) or finer products (e.g. varnishes, lacquers, glazes, primers, finishing paints)

If your activity or your projects correspond to this, you should probably go for the models of machines indicated in this article.
However, BE CAREFUL, this article is only a first approach to the selection of your airless machine. Each user and project is different.
Therefore, in order to avoid any mistakes, please do not hesitate to contact us by phone (+49 30 22 01 54 36), email (info@airless-discounter.de) or messages (+49 1 52 29 53 52 13), so that we can validate your idea or redirect you to a more suitable device.

Let’s look at the devices of each brand that will often best meet these criteria.

Graco series

At Graco, the best compromise quality/price according to these needs, will be the following 2 machines, which are also the entry level of professional airless machines.

1. The Graco GX21

GX21

This small airless machine will be the lightest and most compact in the series, but will also be the first machine in Graco’s professional range.

Its valves will be easy to maintain but will be small in size compared to the models above. In addition, it will be one of the easiest machines to clean, but only has one type of #40 primary filter available. The higher models will accept 4.

This will be the minimum model recommended by our company for interior painting.

  • Max. flow rate: 1.8 l/min
  • Max. working pressure: 207 bar
  • Max. nozzle size: 0.021″ (521)
  • Weight: 13.2 kg

2. The Graco Classic S 395 PC

Graco CLASSIC 395 PC

This electric airless piston pump will be more expensive than the GX21, but will have the same mechanical structure as Graco’s higher range machines; and will have a little more power for a machine that will also be more durable than the GX21.
It will also be able to accept 4 sizes of primary filter for better flow management.

This Graco machine will also be the first model in our professional range to accept a 6 litre hopper if required.
In short, a serious investment to get started in airless paint spraying.

  • Voltage: 230 V / 50 Hz
  • Motor power: 0,65 kW
  • Maximum flow rate: 2.0 l/min
  • Max. working pressure: 227 bar
  • Maximum nozzle size: 0.023″ (523)
  • Weight: 19 kg

Wagner series

At Wagner, the best compromise will be between a membrane and a piston machine. These two electric machines can also be found in the brand’s professional entry-level range.

1. The Wagner SuperFinish 23 Pro

This electric membrane machine is a little sister to the SuperFinish 23 Plus. Simpler and more compact in its operation, it will still have a flow rate of 2.6 l/min. Easy to repair, with a lower than average cost of parts, this one will be the trump card for airless investors starting out.
It has no electronics, but is still very versatile when you need to work with smaller quantities, thanks to its shorter hopper and hose connections. Finally, the diaphragm system is known for its advantage in reducing the quantities needed to prime the machine.

The Wagner SF 23 Pro will therefore accept a 6l or 20l hopper on top as well as a very thin and short hose (DN3 – 7.5m), in order to be able to work as best as possible with small quantities and fine materials.

2. The Wagner ProSpray 3.21

Wagner ProSpray 3.21 sur châssis

The ProSpray PS 3.21 airless paint sprayer from Wagner is an electrically driven piston pump for small applications up to 200 m². The airless sprayer offers a flow rate of 2.0 litres at a maximum pressure of 221 bar and is therefore particularly suitable for spraying varnishes, primers or interior dispersion paints for small and medium-sized projects; for example in the field of home renovation or janitorial services.

It will also accept 4 sizes of primary filter for improved filtration and flow management.
This Wagner machine will also be the first model in our professional range of piston machines to accept a 6 litre hopper if required.

  • Motor power: 1,03 kW
  • Voltage: 230 V / 50 Hz
  • Maximum flow rate: 2.0 l/min
  • Maximum pressure: 221 bar
  • Max. nozzle size: 0.023″ (523)
  • Weight: 17,9 kg

For dispersion of wall paint mainly

If your present and future projects involve 90% wall painting, we recommend that you stick with an electric piston machine. It will very often have a more comfortable application and a little more endurance.

Due to its current purchase price, we are inclined to choose the Graco CLASSIC S 395 PC.

Eletric piston pumps will be more suitable for wall paintings due to :

  • Flexible suction hose (more convenient for dipping into paint cans)
  • Electric piston operation (more durable over time)
  • Compact unit (better transport + weight saving)
  • 3 filtering options: Strainer + primary filter + gun filter (4 mesh sizes available)

The choice of versatility

If versatility on the job site is the name of the game, and you will be spraying wall paints as well as finer products in smaller quantities, we would recommend an electric membrane machine. This category of airless models will have a better comfort when changing parts, moreover you will have several accessories available for small quantities and they will have, as we have already mentioned, the shortest priming path that it can be on a professional airless spray machine.

Therefore, a great asset for craftsmen and carpenters for example, who need to work more or less regularly with small pots of lacquer on doors, furniture, frames etc… But still with the possibility to paint a flat if necessary.
